John Gibson’s story is one of unexpected turns, resilience, and a journey into God’s peace that surpasses all understanding.
At age 16, after winning a state high school golf championship and preparing for a promising future in sports, tragedy struck. John’s father passed away suddenly, leaving behind family businesses—a retail store and a golf course—that John had to run. Overnight, his trajectory shifted from athlete to entrepreneur.
Though this rug-pull disrupted his dreams, God was already working behind the scenes to prepare John for something greater: a pathway to perfect peace in the middle of chaos.
Life’s rug-pulls didn’t stop there. Years later, while thriving in the golf industry, false accusations from a competitor cost John his reputation and key clients. The stress was unlike anything he’d ever experienced.
“I’m normally a sound sleeper, but during this time I couldn’t sleep at all. I was in the deepest anxiety of my life.”
Then, one night, everything changed.
In the early 2000s, during one of those sleepless nights, John sensed the presence of God enter his room. He clearly heard words that aligned with Philippians 4:6–7:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
In that moment, John went from overwhelming anxiety to a supernatural peace he had never known before. This encounter marked the beginning of a lifelong pursuit of perfect peace in every circumstance.
That night also opened a new way of walking with God. John discovered that hearing from the Lord wasn’t random or limited to crisis moments. It could become a daily, conversational relationship.
He began asking questions, listening for God’s answers, and discerning His voice against the backdrop of Scripture. Over time, John learned that God’s voice often came with phrasing and perspective very different from his own thoughts—helping him recognize when it was truly the Lord speaking.
One key lesson John now teaches is what he calls “reversing the trigger.”
Whenever anxious thoughts spiral, instead of replaying negative loops, John began to pray for the person or situation causing the stress. What once fueled anxiety now became an opportunity for intercession and breakthrough.
This practice, along with hearing God’s perspective, became part of what John now calls The Pathway to Perfect Peace.
In today’s business world, mindfulness and meditation are often promoted as solutions to stress. But John points out a critical difference:
“We’re not meant to cope with chaos—we’re meant to conquer it through the Prince of Peace.”
By inviting Jesus into every thought and decision, leaders can walk in peace and clarity, no matter the circumstances.
John’s teachings help believers address chaos in multiple areas:

John is currently writing a guidebook, The Pathway to Perfect Peace, designed to help people experience peace in real-time, not just learn about it. He also leads live interactive sessions where participants practice hearing God’s voice and reframing chaos through His perspective.
