That’s me in the red hoodie with my cousins John and Jason. I was about 7 or 8 here. We’re hanging out in the dairy barn …probably up to no good.My dad grew up milking the cows before school in that barn. When this pic was taken there were zero Holsteins to be found on our property and SHEEP were roaming the hills of the Rowan farm.Fast forward a few years this old barn had found a new purpose. In my middle school years I began helping my dad “hork” out tons of old manure (cow poo) from the floors. We were making room for the next thing which was Psalm 23 Camp.My parents wanted a positive place for young people to come and learn about taking care of God’s land His way.By the time I finished high school that old barn had a complete face lift. You’d barely recognize it. Same structure but a completely new look and more importantly a new purpose.Over the course of nearly 30 years, it saw 100s if not 1000s of youth come through that building.What started with one thing in the mind of my Grandpa Claude, God saw fit to repurpose it for His use.What do you have in your hands that may be broken down, old, worn out that has a new and even greater purpose hidden within?In God’s grand design and wisdom, He can take that which looks like it is finished and make it brand new and even more impactful.
